Bread Shop Education

One thing I really love about it here is that they reuse everything...nothing goes to waste. A particular example of this is that when you buy bread they wrap it up for you in an old newspaper or something similar, I guess in a similar way the way chip shops did in the past. I have found my bread wrapped in newspapers written in English, Amharic, Afan Oromo and last week I even had a French one! The English speaking ones seem to come from the Dubai as I often find my bread wrapped up in adverts for beautiful condos for sale or rent there, but occasionally I am lucky enough to get a bit of the paper with some actual news on it. Another favourite material used wrapping paper is old exam papers or school worksheets. For about 5 pence it is possible to get a baguette with a free physics lesson rolled in. Sometimes when I am sitting eating my breakfast I am tempted to give the questions a go.
